The Cause

Food Bank use has soared by 54% in the past 5 years, with 1 in 5 of the UK population living below the poverty line.

3.1 Million emergency food parcels were provided between April 23 and March 24, Trussel Trust.

This is not ok.

The Giving Tree is aiming to raise £30,000 with their Pedals with Purpose initiative, which would help provide thousands of emergency food parcels to those in crisis and support vital elements such as warehouse space, staffing and food delivery costs at our local hubs.

Cycle Safari 2025

Pedals with Purpose

This April 2025 The Giving Tree will be raising money and awareness for food banks in the East of England, a cause very close to our hearts.

The initiative will run for the whole of April and we are working in partnership with Chestnut and Edmondson Hall Solicitors, encouraging their teams to take to their bikes in order to raise as much money as they can.

Throughout April every time a team member cycles and logs a mile on Strava our charity partner, Edmondson Hall have pledged to donate 50p to The Giving Tree. The culmination of the teams’ efforts will then end with a grueling 520km Cycle Safari around 10 food banks in the East of England to raise awareness and funds for these much-needed facilities.

To support the efforts all Chestnut pubs and Big Houses will be fundraising throughout the whole of April with a £1 voluntary donation added to guest bills.

Chestnut properties will also double up as collection points for non-perishable food donations from April 1st – Tuesday 6th May.
